Over the last few days my father-in-law hasn't been feeling well, gradually getting much worse, day by day. So much so that I decided to sink into his skull that HE NEEDED to be seen by someone. I was getting worried about him & he can be quite stubborn most of the time. He ended up at the clinic, which they promptly sent him to the ER where he's been admitted. They assume it's gall-stones, but we'll know more as the day goes on. Please keep my FIL in your thoughts & prayers.
Since he's going to be out of commission for a few days, or longer if they end up doing surgery. So, we're going to bring my Grandma (in law) here to stay with us for a few days at least. She's 90 years young, and while she's still very capable she cooks, cleans, etc..but has a penchant for falling and breaking bones once in a while, so we all feel better if she has somebody with her "just in case". It's a wonderful gift getting to spend extra time with her & the kids absolutely adore her, naturally.
Hubby picked up some foods this morning that she likes to have at home & I'll have to get creative and whip up a menu plan for the week as I didn't end up doing a big shop this week, I just picked up stuff here & there as we needed it. Which is not the best idea as I've already plowed through most of our grocery budget and don't have very much to show for it!
So today I've made a short(er) to-do list and hopefully I'll be able to accomplish it all before she gets here mid-afternoon.
Scrub bathroomSweep kitchenVacuum main floorVacuum furniture (cat is shedding something crazy!!)- Finish embroidery order (1/2 completed)
- Menu plan for tues/wed/thurs
Help girls tidy bedroom so it's *spotless* as grandma will be using Myas bed.- Read a few chapters of my (review) novel.
Empty dishwasher & tidy kitchen
Then tonight I hope to get my first set of hexies hand sewn together. I can do this while I spend time with grandma and/or watch a movie, so I'll be double "productive". ;)
Well I'm off to start on my list! Have a wonderful & productive day!

How do you feel about house guests? Do you welcome the opportunity to show hospitality to others or cringe because it disrupts your day & adds extra work?
