Oops!! Nevermind that... It's just our income dropping by $365 a month. Ouch! So, I now know what we're dealing with and it's more than I thought, but that's ok. We've never gone hungry before & I'm pretty sure we won't now. Thankfully, our income isn't dropping by $365 until October 1st, but I'm going to start on our new budget today, as this week we have a more in our budget than usual which is a blessing because we need:
- Steel toed work shoes for hubby. ($150) *We receive $75 of this back from his work after we submit our receipt.
- Meds for hubby ($100)
Here's how our budget will look from here on in:
- Food $160.00
- Fun $20.00
- Gifts/Clothes $20.00
- Misc $35.00
- Xmas $30.00
- Emergency Fund $50.00
- Freedom Fund $50.00
- GF foods & Free-range, organic meats $30.00
I've also budgeted a bit of personal money for hubby & I this month only, as the GST credit came in today, which covers a good chunk of this fun money!
- "Fun Money" for hubby & myself $200.00 ($100.00 each) (yay!!)
I'm also going back to tracking every penny on my Visual Budget APP, (June was a total write off for me with my FIL hospitalized & sick kids) so I will have a full report next week on how we did on our new budget!
As long as Murphy stays away! By the time our budget drops we should have the following in our EF: $3700 & Xmas: $920. I'm going to keep our savings at $50/EF & $30/Xmas for now and see how we do on our new budget.
Our new budget in October will have absolutely NO WIGGLE ROOM so we'll have to watch every penny, literally. My photo shoots & custom order earnings will get tucked aside for guitar & hopefully just a little "extra" when we need/want it. We're also supposed to be getting a new Trillium benefit (to offset hydro/gas/housing costs) this month & I think we qualify for around $100/month. That would help our budget stretch further, but I won't count on it until we receive it.
Up until October we'll have an extra $83'ish a week in our budget since we're starting our new budget today. With that I'm going to tuck it (hopefully all) into guitar. My goal is to save as much $$ for Morgans guitar lessons as I can so we're set until the end of December. ($660) Then we will probably have to drop down to 30 minute lessons as they're more affordable, just in case I don't bring in enough extra income to cover her lessons each month. ($20 vs. $30/45 min).
And I *think* that about covers it! :) I'm off tonight to the Sunfest with BFF & Morgan. We'll see if I find anything that catches my eye!
How's your budget going? And bombs dropping down on your budget as well?
