Since hubby & I have spoken about our budget and my 'chilaxin' ;) we've decided to sit down every Thursday when he gets paid to discuss the upcoming weeks budget. This way we can plan around any upcoming holidays, events, items we need/want to buy, etc.. So, it appears that we may have a different budget each week depending on what's going on & what we need at the time! If we have a freezer & fridge full of groceries there's no need to set aside $160+ for food, so that can be put that elsewhere. If we have a gift to buy, want to plan a date night, one of the kids needs something, etc.. we can work these things in as they come. This will hopefully be a more realistic & relaxed approach for our family and I'm interested to see how it goes!
We do have set savings amounts in place & will continue with those and let them build up slowly but surely. So far this month we've set $280 into our emergency savings. I still have $280 to go and quite honestly, I'm not sure if I'll be able to reach that goal or not, but I'm not going to stress about it. We'll see how the month goes & hope for the best!
We're currently sitting with $102.89 left in our budget for the week. I'm not tracking where the $$ goes right now, I'll pull out the weeks budget money and we'll use it as we see fit. I may in the future buy hubby would really like me to not worry & stress so much about the budget, so that is my ultimate goal right now.
That's how we're doing money-wise! How about you? Any changes to your budget lately?
