We have an 'older' 3 in 1 HP scanner/copier/printer. No matter what I do I cannot get it to print anymore. I've searched online and found tutorials, videos, suggestions, etc.. and nothing is helping. I called HP for help but that was fruitless since its 2 years out of warranty. From what I've read if nothing I've tried works, its old & simply just not compatible with our new laptop.
I called Best Buy tonight to see about getting it looked at. It'll cost us $79.00 plus tax & then they send it away to see what's wrong with it & go from there. Ummm...no. You can buy new ones for that! So it appears that I have a huge paper weight sitting on my shelf ready to collect dust. :(
With hs'ing I need to be able to copy, print, scan, etc... It'll cost me $.20/copy at the variety store and anywhere cheaper isn't within walking distance. That'll end up costing me a small fortune in the end & really not how I want to spend my time if I can avoid it. Plus I can't use my new history CD filled with supplementary printouts without my laptop.
You can see where I'm going with this right? ;) It is my no-spend September Savings month and one of my goals was to buy no "stuff", however a printer isn't really optional for us. Soo... Unless hubby finds a way to fix it ASAP, I'm going to run out today & see what I can find at the "back to school" sales. We're starting school on Monday & I need to have all my planning, work, etc.. ready to go!
I have my eye on a couple printers so far....
An HP All in One Inkjet printer that's on sale for $39.99 and the ink is only $19.99, so not too bad... Ugly yes, but affordable. ;)
And a Canon Pixma Wireless All in One Inkjet Printer... This Canon is a sexy little beast!! ;) But at almost double the price at $69.99, and the inks cost a bit more too. It does come with ink, but I'm betting not much. However this printer has rave reviews which makes me think it would probably be a better buy & last longer overall...
Now it's not all bad... I've hardly spent any money this week so should definitely be still able to come in under my $200 weekly budget! Which makes me very happy as I really want to reach my savings goal this month!
I figure while I'm probably having to buy "stuff" at least I'll still come in under budget! Right?
Have you had to buy anything or pay for something that you really didn't want to this month? Has it put a dent in your budget for the month?
