I've been asked many times for my gluten-free recipes and really, I'm not a baker. At all. I just don't enjoy it. I bake homemade wheat bread for my family, but other than that, Morgan (my oldest dd) does ALL the baking. Even mine. For any & all of my gluten-free baking I use Namaste Foods mixes. They are allergy free & gluten free. Since I'm not only dealing with GF but also with food allergies, this is the way to go for me.
Namaste Foods mixes are free of:
- Tree nuts
I Morgan bakes cookies, I grab a bag of cookie mix, a bag of Enjoy Life chocolate chips & go from there. I believe she adds eggs & oil then bakes.
Gluten-free baking takes mixes of several gluten-free flours usually made from rice, beans, soy, etc... then you need to balance it out with xanthate gum or guar gum, egg, certain liquids, etc... in order to have it come out correctly. It's a lot harder than just using plain wheat flour, and since Namaste Foods has already perfected this, I will continue to support their great service to GF/Allergy conscious consumers like myself! :)
The time & energy I save is worth it to me.
Every single mix I've tried from Namaste has been DELICIOUS! I swear by Namaste! Even my girls love my GF goodies! :) If you're dealing with other food allergies I encourage you to check out my friend Susan's Food Allergy Chronicles blog. She is AMAZING & loves cooking & baking! Which you can tell by her mouth watering photos & recipes!
So now you know! ;)
And no, I wasn't paid or sent anything by Namaste Foods. I simply love & trust their company! :)
