How did everyone do with their first week of my September Savings Challenge? I started out great then ended up going over my $200 weekly budget by $20 & change, so that gives me a bit less wiggle room for this week. It should all work out ok this week as long as I stay under budget to even out for the months budget of $800.
I had just two no-spends only but am hoping for more this week!
(iPad APP is called "Visual Budget" $4.99 for full version)

My total expenses total: $230.86
I also was able to bring in some extra income this week! $115.00! Yay!!
- Sold leather jacket - $40.00 (Guitar lessons)
- Sold curriculum books - $50.00 (Guitar lessons)
- Custom Order - $25.00 ($10.00 of this was for a donation to the Terry Fox run, $15.00 is sitting in my Paypal account)
I now have Morgans private guitar lessons completely saved up for until the new year! :)
I'm starting us out with $180.00 for the week since the $10.00 donation came from my Paypal account, it doesn't really interfere with my weekly budget. But I did go over by $20.00, so am docking us that.
I have put my goal of $140.00 into our EF this week! :)
I also had a little realization that our budget doesn't actually take the $375 drop until next month, so I have extra funds this month! For some reason all my accounts aren't showing up online so I'll have to take a look after & see what i'm going to do with the extra money this month. But I do know that there's $145 of "unaccounted" for money sitting in my account so I need to decide where to put that.
I think everyone is fine for winter with snowsuits, coats, boots, etc... But Maria definitely & Mya may need new winter boots. I'll have to look soon and see because according to the 'experts' it's supposed to be a brutal winter this year. Other than that we should be smooth sailing for winter wear this year! I also need to go through the girls clothes & see if any new fall & winter clothes will be needed. Maria has been growing like a weed & seems to be growing out of all her clothes, even the shorts we bought her at the beginning of the summer barely fit her now! So sorting through the girls clothes will be a task I'll be doing soon in preparation for fall!
On another note, looking at the forecast for the next two weeks it appears that I can finally turn off the central air!! It's about time! It's been such a hot summer that I'm looking forward to the first killing first so everyones allergies will finally ease up!
Well I'm off for now... On my "to-do" list the weekend:
Sew mug rug & pkg. custom order to mail! (although it's pouring so probably won't go out until Monday!)- Bake chocolate chip cookies with the girls.
- Menu plan for the week.
Continue with my HS planning. My goal is to complete all of Septembers lessons by Sunday Night.Wash/dry/put away 2-3 loads of laundry.Vacuum & dust living room/dining room.Sweep kitchen & bathroom. Wipe down the baseboards.List COACH crossbody purse on Kijiji. (Used it 2x... I'm really not a COACH kind of girl) If anyone is interested email me & I'll send you a photo. It's a smaller bag.- Read up to chapter 15 in my book. (I'm currently on chapter 5)
- Open up a seperate "Mini-blog" for my Christmas shopping posts. My older 2 kids sometimes peek in on my blog, so I can't post about Christmas plans or shopping on this blog unless I can somehow open a private page in which you need a password to read. Suggestions?
- Photo Shoot tomorrow afternoon, load & start with photo editing.
And I think that's enough to keep me busy for the weekend! :)
How did your first week of September go? Did you hit your savings goal? Do you need to do anything differently this week in order to improve on your first week?
