With everyone in our household currently being sick and needing prescriptions, numerous OTC pain relievers, cough medicines, lozenges, etc... and since hubby missed the last week of work, I need to change my original financial goal & plan for January. So... i've went over our budget and these are my financial goals for the month:
- Bump back up our bank account to a $2K 'zero balance'. We are currently short by a touch over $100.00, it was $200, but thanks to a nice custom order I was able to bulk this up a bit!
- Add $500 to our EF from our Freedom account. *this is already saved*
- Find $100 to fund Morgan's belated birthday "night out".
- Save an extra $50.00 each week to put into our EF, totalling $100.00/week saved.
- Save $80.00 for Morgan's February guitar lessons.
Since hubbys first paycheck of the year may possibly be $0.00, i'm not counting on anything to add to our budget this Thursday. If we do receive anything on his check, (hopefully Christmas & Boxing Day pay since he had a Dr's note) whatever it amounts to will go towards my January goals. If it's more than what we're expecting, it may fatten up our weekly budget a tiny bit. We'll see when Thursday rolls around anyways.
I currently have $273.65 in my wallet to last us 10 days until hubby receives a 'real' paycheck that we can actually use. This will give us $27 and change a day to live on, for anything & everything we may need. God willing this will not have to be used for any more medical expenses...
Our freezer is full of meat, so this budget should be acheivable for the most part. I have a dentist appointment next weekend that I think i'm going to cancel until I get back my $277 refund from my last appointment so we don't have to put out another $300 or whatever and be out $600 right now... we're still waiting on the refund from Morgans new prescription glasses as well. So I think a general cleaning appointment can wait for another week or two until we even out a little bit.
