I like fabric. I tend to buy a good amount.... to have in my stash & for custom orders. Lately i've been buying lots, so I made a little self-challenge to myself!
Before I buy more fabric I *HAVE* to add $500 to our TFSA and buy a gift from the World Vision gift catalogue. I think it's a pretty good challenge to be honest! I haven't posted about this challenge yet, so i'm on my way already. I've already added $200.00 to our TFSA and have another $75.00 to put in today! So i'll be at $275/$500 challenge! Not bad at all! I'm not exactly sure what I want to give through the World Vision catalogue. I may choose something for my sponsor childs community as that would be neat and benefit him as well. I don't know... it's hard to choose when i'd love to gift EVERYTHING! lol!!
I have a pre-ordered bundle of Art Gallery's "Indelible" coming in at Warp & Weft sooner than later, so i'm trying hard to reach this goal as that bundle will count as my *choice* along with 1 other piece of fabric I really want that I found on Etsy! lol!
Then I think i'll be repeating the same challenge again! :) With my not putting regular deposits into our TFSA right now with our new budget, this is a nice way to really beef up our savings and faster than it was before! Just this way I *KNOW* I have the $$ before it gets tucked aside, and if we don't, it doesn't go into that account. I would absolutely LOVE to have $15K in our TFSA by Christmas, but that's a lofty goal, so for now i'll just work my way up to it and see how I do! :)
Our slush fund it still sitting pretty at $4900.00, but I have lots of plans this week with "H", want to buy more gifts, and some money is sitting in there for postage costs, fabric orders, etc for a few upcoming orders. So it's not really as high as it may "appear". All the same, i'm happy it's where it is.
We have also saved up & fully funded our Christmas account! We have $1400.00 with a couple months to go, which will nicely round out that account for "other" Christmas expenses & gifts.
Overall, things are going well on the financial front! Hard work & saving like a squirrel for winter is a good way to live! haha! Well i'm off as I have a LOT of sewing to get through before Monday so I need to sneak in chunks of time here & there as I can! Have a fabulous day!!
Do you ever give yourself self "saving/giving" challenges?
