'Tis the Season...

****

Today we decided to decorate for Christmas, and as I type, it's still "in progress". Christmas music has been playing all day, everything from Bing Crosby to Classical, to Elvis Presley to K-pop! We have assorted eclectic music tastes over here... the tree is half decorated and there are bins of decorations spread throughout the living room & kitchen as we figure where to put everything! Tomorrow we'll have to finish, but I think that we've done about all we can do for one day! I'll share photos when all is said and done!

Last night child #2 and I ran out to pick up new lights for the tree as I knew we were starting with next to no lights this year! By the end of the season last year our tree was 90% unlit! We decided to check out Canadian Tire &Walmart for lights, they were a touch cheaper at WM so we went with those but I still ended up spending $80.00 on lights! Ouch! Oh well, cheaper than buying a new tree I suppose! Mind you it would have been easier than untangling and unclipping a gazillion lights on a prelit Christmas tree!! It took us more than FOUR HOURS today to do it all and our poor fingers... numb & purple. LOL!

Anyways, as we were wandering through Canadian Tire we came across these very unique & modern Christmas Trees! To be honest, they are definitely not for me as i'm very traditional when it comes to Christmas and really love my green tree and classic ornaments and decorations. Nutcrackers, vintage Santas, Snowmen, Angels, etc...

Mya however absolutely LOVES this hot pink, very "Barbie" like tree and would have been absolutely thrilled to bits if I had brought this one home!! Hahaha!! I believe these trees run at about $250.00 each... I think it's so strange to see coloured trees like these! I really am boring...

Then there were rows & rows & rows of ornaments to match each tree... so enticing & pretty!!

The last week was insanely busy and i've honestly had next to no time to sew. Mya was sick all week, but is doing much better now and was a happy little girl when she was able to play with her friends tonight after being stuck in the house all week! However, now Maria has a cold and my poor husband is sick again! I'm wondering if he just didn't kick his Bronchitis/Pneumonia yet... but he's not feeling well again. *sigh*

Anyways, i've made myself up a sewing schedule for the week, and if all goes well, i'll have every single one of my customs complete & crossed off of my list so I can start sewing for the next Merry Makers Christmas Fair, some RTS items (ready to ship) items and some Christmas gifts as well!!

I'm so tired... it's 10:12 and I feel like I could use a really good nights rest! Tomorrow there's a Christmas parade near us bright & early, and the girls are hoping to go. I need to check the weather and see how Maria feels when she wakes up, but they both went to bed like angels as I know they have their hearts set on going. Then we have tickets to the Grand Theatre on Sunday to see the Wizard of Oz!! We're all *very* excited to see this!! I have never seen kids more excited to see live theatre than mine are! I'm so happy that they love it as much as I do! We were talking about it and this will be their 5th play they've seen so far and they want to add to this list! They remember each & every play and still talk about them, simply amazing what live theatre can do for a soul!!

Well on that note, i'm going to cut this short and sign off for the night... thanks for reading & enjoy your evening!
