My New Business Cards (and looking ahead to June!)

***

My new business cards from VistaPrint arrived today and they're just the prettiest cards ever! The rounded corners and the water colour print in such gorgeous colours is such a gorgeous combination, I absolutely love them. And it's a good thing since I ordered 1000 of them...

Don't worry, I only play with sharp scissors, I don't run with them.... hahahaha!

I didn't sew today at all... I left my sewing machine off all day and didn't even look at my to do list, which means it's all waiting for me tomorrow! At least I had a very relaxing and easy going day, truth be told, I really needed it. Tomorrow I'll need to be uber productive morning till night so I can get everything done, but such is life.

Once I get all my "May" sewing crossed off my list it's going to be such a relief honestly... I have things that I should have done by now, things I want to do for others, I have gifts to make, so on and so forth. I just want to get *EVERYTHING* done and be able to have a completely clear slate to start fresh with. So June is going to be my "get it all done & over with month". Tomorrow I'm going to make my list for the month and get stuff done!

I received notice today that my needle bar thread guide shipped, along with a new foot for my JUKI - I'll share more about my new foot after I receive it and try it out. Anyways, I ordered 2 thread guides just in case it snaps again on my machine. Thankfully it's not something that stops my machine from working, but it definitely needs replaced and this time I'll be far more careful with it. I tends to get in my way sometimes, but since it's part of my machine, I should definitely be more careful with it!

Well, it's almost midnight and my eyes are starting to close, I'm exhausted a full nights sleep sounds close to heavenly right now! Have a wonderful evening!

When Things are Busy, Don't Forget what *really* Matters...

Sometimes when life gets busy I tend to put on my blinders and only focus on what the biggest task is ahead of me, and I let smaller things slide, it's not a good thing to do so I am trying to change my 'evil ways' and focusing on finding that ever elusive thing called "balance".
It's not easy to find and I have a feeling that it will forever be a constant challenge for me, but all the same, I am trying. It's a huge part of why I'm cutting my customs way down as well. My customs have been closed for well over two months now, perhaps even getting closer to 3 months now and so far, things are still going quite well!
I've have more time for my kids, more time for myself, more time just to 'be'! I haven't had to be online *nearly* as much as I have to be when my customs are open and people are constantly 'pinging' me, and honestly it's really nice. Especially now that we're well into spring and heading into summer when we like to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather as much as possible!
Yesterday we went for a walk and ended up at the dollar store where I grabbed a handful of fun things for my World Vision sponsor kids. I have 2 now, a boy in Jerusalem and a girl in Cambodia. Being able to sponsor these kids and help to give them a better life means so much to me! Every month I pull the money from my income and tuck it aside first thing, because it's a priority to me.
I've decided that I want to start sending them both a small pkg each month as well so I'm going to plan something at the beginning of each month for them. The envelopes can take quite a while to arrive so if I start sending monthly without fail, I think they'll really enjoy receiving regular 'happy mail'. They postage alone costs anywhere from $2.50-$6.00 each to send, this month the postage is $6.00 on each envelope then the contents. I'd say probably upwards of $30.00 for both envelopes in total. Sometimes I'll send less, sometimes more, it all depends on what I find as we can't send anything bulky so that can make it a challenge.
I think next month I'm going to send some "Canada" themed items as they're quite abundant in the dollar stores right now with Canada Day being soon! By the way, you'd be hard pressed to find something in our dollar stores that actually cost a dollar!

For June I'm sending my girl "S" Barbie coloring stuff, a birthday card to colour, stickers and my boy "M", a cool dinosaur glow-in-the-dark model kit and some Spider-Man stickers and a painting book. I actually split up the pencil crayons between both envelopes, to keep the weight even etc. I hope he likes glitter pencil crayons too... lol!

On that note, I'm off for the day... it's gorgeous outside and the sun is calling me! Have a fabulous afternoon!!

What do you need to make more time for?

Randomness...

****

First things first, like my new blog header? Totoro outside hanging out in the rain! My sister made me this guy and I love him to bits... he needed some fresh air after dinner so we went outside after the hail storm for a bit! It cooled it down and watered all of our flowers & plants for us!

Anyways, this morning started out with a black coffee and finishing up a few Essential Oil Pouches! I can do these with my eyes closed now, which is good 'cause I didn't get much sleep last night and I almost did make these with my eyes closed.. haha!

Aren't they lovely?

I miss playing with my camera... I love photography and really am going to try to make more time for it! I brought my cute Danbos outside for a bit tonight and thought this pic was cute!

I've been working on a pile of hexies with my Amy Sinibaldi scraps, not sure what I'm going to make, perhaps a little pouch or something. Maybe a cute set of coasters with linen? That sounds lovely doesn't it?!

I recieved a pile of fabric orders today as well, and if you're on Instagram or FB you can see the video I made of my Country Clothesline fabrics! Very retro and fun fabrics!

These pretties below are organic Cloud9 Fabrics from Flare Fabrics, where I also stocked up on fusible fleece! I don't care what *anyone* says, Pellon is the best and I am sticking with it, even if it costs more.
