Major Decluttering Happening...

***

How was everyone's weekend? Good, I hope! Not much happening over here this weekend, Miss Mya had her bestie over for the weekend, Maria hibernated as she hates the almost 40c heat, Dh worked and had a migraine today, Dallas worked, Child #2 worked on university stuff, and I did some laundry, sewing and decluttering!

I've re-opened my customs for a handful of spots so I've filled some of those spots and fill in my 'empty' days with some RTS (Ready to Ship) sewing. So far everyone who has snagged a spot has been an amazing customer! They chose their fabrics quickly & easily, and paid quickly. I'm so grateful for amazing customers like these ones! I'm hoping to get a few more customs then I'll close shop again and get to it! I'd like to bulk up my albums on FB with some fresh new wallets etc, and play with some of my gorgeous new fabrics as well, so with any luck I'll be adding new pretties sooner than later!

Over the next 2 months my goal is to clear out as much 'stuff' as we can, not that we really have all that much "stuff" as I hate clutter and crap in the house, but I do want to simplify as much as I possibly can. First i'm going to go through everyone's clothing to see what we keep and what we donate. I don't pass on from Maria to Mya as their styles are *so* different and their body types are nowhere alike. Mya's stuff will go to her best friend who is younger and tinier than she is. Maria's will get donated, but she's not much of a shopper and is definitely a minimalist at heart. She just needs "enough". Except when it comes to her Amiibo collection, she needs them all. Hahahha!!!

I'm going to go through my clothes quickly tomorrow morning and see what I haven't worn in a while and throw it into a donation bag. That'll probably only be a 15 minute task. I don't think I'll have all that much honestly as I did a BIG wardrobe purge last summer and haven't bought much since then, except a few new pairs of jeans I think, perhaps a shirt or two. So, I'm going to keep my faves, and donate what I don't and haven't worn in a while. We've also been going through Mya's toys as she has more 'stuff' than anyone, which I guess makes sense since she's the "baby" at 10. So far we have 2 bags to donate and are working on a bag of "garbage", ie: junky little $ store toys, etc...

I've already went through our hs'ing curriculum/educational books and have started to list (and sell) items online. I have a pick-up bright & early tomorrow morning which will start my "stuff I've sold" savings off nicely! I plan on tucking aside all cash from local pick-ups and will tally it near the end of summer! We've went through some books and set aside 5 bags to donate. I still need to go through the girls bookshelves with them and see what they don't read/want anymore as well. I'll probably try to unload their books on a FB group first, then whatever doesn't sell will get donated.

I've scheduled a donation pick up from the Diabetes Associtation for June 30th. Which means we have a little under 2 weeks to gather as much as we possibly can and get it ready to go! I am going to go through every square inch of the house keep this in mind...

We are in the midst of making major life changes in order to simplify things. I am not one of those type of people who enjoys dragging my kids to activities every night of the week. I don't want my kids to have absolutely no unstructured free time. I want my kids to have the freedom I did as a child to wander & explore. I don't want my days to be filled morning till night with no time to breathe or simply sit and enjoy life. I hate being *connected* all the time, I hate that my devices are forever "pinging" me and that someone always "needs" me for something. I do enjoy being online and social media is wonderful, etc... but it's just too much lately. There has to be a happy medium and I'm after that.

I'm shifting my mindset and I will be happy with just "enough".
