I am grateful...
Simple days...

Today...

I spent a few hours with my friend and her 2 little ones today... I sometimes forget how much work little ones are until I get that dose of reality again. LoL! Although they are the sweetest things, I'm quite content with mine being far more self sufficient than younger ones.

I treated the kids to McDonald fries for lunch and we came back to my house to chat for a bit while she fed her youngest and her toddler adored my cat for a while. She however did not return the favour... lol!!

I unloaded a big bag of wooden blocks that the girls haven't played with in eons, gave her a pair of summer shoes that I didn't wear/need, and gifted her a new cork card wallet for her business cards along with a huge bag of fabric.

After she left I went outside for some fresh air and this big gorgeous Swallowtail butterfly came to visit me! It sat there for long enough for me to appreciate it's beauty and snap a few photos.

Mya had a friend over for dinner and after they had finished eating it was time for Mya's first haircut! LOL! At 10 years old, she's only had her bangs cut. Her choice, her hair. She'd been asking me for a couple weeks to get her hair cut and asked again today, so I knew she was sure of this! I made an appt with my hairdresser and off we went! She got about 8" cut at the longest point and her bangs trimmed. She asked for it a little shorter than it ended up but our hairdresser cut it a bit on the long side first then asked her if she still wanted to go shorter, to which Mya replied with a "No, I love it like this". She's quite happy with it and says it feels much "lighter and softer".
We grabbed slushies for the walk home as it was probably still 30+c. But I'm sitting here blogging at almost 10pm and the temperature has dropped a LOT!! We have the windows wide open and the AC off for the night. I much prefer fresh air compared to the AC being on... Dh is the polar opposite, but I'll just turn it back on tomorrow afternoon again.

Well, dh just informed me that he's taking a cab to work tonight which means I'm up late tonight, so I'm having a coffee and I'm going to appliqué this panel onto this Art Gallery charcoal denim and work on some hand stitching. This is a pouch I'm making for a replacement pkg for my Tiny Florals Swap. I'm not sure what else I'll send with it yet, but this seems to be something she'd quite like, so I'm hoping it makes her smile! I hope to finish it tomorrow and will share photos...

Tomorrow we're supposed to have thunderstorms so my plans are to finish my oil pouches, work on some decluttering and housework. We have a pick up happening on June 30th and I'd love to *REALLY* pare down on our belongings and donate as much as we can. I'm also going to try to sell a few items on Kijiji in the next month or so, although I hate doing that, I'll see what happens.

Well I'm off for now or I'll never get that pouch worked on! I hope everyone had a wonderful day!
