Saving $$$ where I can...
Happy Homemaker Monday!

Not so easy come, but definitely easy go...

Ever have one of those days when money just hemorrhages out of your wallet? Yesterday was one of those days for me...

  • New eyewear for child #2
  • 2 bolts of Pellon interfacing
  • A couple bags of groceries
  • Odds & ends from the pharmacy
  • Amazon.ca order for packing items and a small coffee bodum for me when we move. I will not, and cannot go without coffee for 12 days and don't drink takeout coffee. I need my KickingHorse beans....

The grand total for this stuff was over $1K. Quite painful. I am hoping we receive $200.00 back on the eyewear as the new pair of glasses was almost half of the $1K total and I'm hoping to pick up a few orders & sales over the next week to make that number a little less painful! LOL!!

I need to put in a big WalMart order for when we arrive to Cape Breton for odds & ends that would be fabulous to have in the house ready for us. Towels, washcloths, household items, cleaning supplies, pillows, blankets, etc... as we won't be able to pack everything we need and will have to be quite creative until we receive our truck shipment. I was told that it can take upwards of 12 business days *so not including weekends* to receive our items from the date of pick up.

Which means if they pick up a day or two before we move, we have nowhere to sleep, nowhere to eat, and if we don't receive for upwards of 10 days *after* the move, we have not much at all on hand. It's going to be like camping, only thankfully we have the cutest house to live in! LoL!! We're not bringing any furniture (except my dining room table/chairs) with us so finding living room furniture, beds, tables, etc.. is high on my list to do as soon as we arrive!

My plan is to pack some of our kitchen cooking items, extra clothing, and whatnot for checked baggage, but I think overall placing a big order and shipping to my east coast bestie so she can take care of that for us on her end is definitely the way to go! I need to take care of that this week. We are allowed carry-ons each and 1 checked suitcase each weighing in at 50lbs. So I'm going to have my scale closeby to make sure we don't go over.

We have been through this many times with our homestay girls from Japan, so at least I know what I'm dealing with here...

There is honestly soo much to do for this move it's a little bit insane. My "to do" list every single day is massive, even today I'm looking at my list and wondering how I'm going to do it all. I suppose this is why sleep hasn't been so great for the last month...

Well on that note, I need to get moving again or I won't get anything crossed off my list today! I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!
