Hi! I’m Carla!
I live in beautiful Ontario, Canada with my wonderful husband and our 4 wonderful kids ranging in ages from 5-18 years of age! I’m a Christian, homeschooling SAHM living a healthy lifestyle, enjoying life with my family one day at a time.
I blog about taking care of a large family of 6, my faith, education/homeschooling, family finance, being "green", my hobbies which range from scrapbooking, charity, helping others, sewing & photography, etc! I also blog about living frugally (and well!) on one income. Health & well-being is a big part of my life as well! Really, you'll find absolutely everything on this blog, it's about my life and those in it. :)
I've been married for almost 19 years and have all my kids at home with me now. However, with my oldest being 18 years old now I find we're entering a new phase of our lives and I know i'm eventually going to have to "cut the apron strings". ;) You'll find that I blog a lot about my family as they are my life. I have been very blessed to be a SAHM and cherish every moment God allows me to spend with my husband & children. They are what I live for.
In my 'spare' time I love to sew and taught myself how to make all sorts of neat little items such as baby sets, wallets, camera straps, quilts, placemats, etc... You can see my work on my "custom orders" page. You can also place a custom order of a handmade item created especially for you in your favourite colours, patterns, size, etc... :)
I originally started blogging about weight loss & health as I lost 55+ lbs by switching to a clean & unprocessed diet. I then transitioned over to a mostly Primal/paleo diet to keep my food allergies (OAS) in check & my eczema/contact dermatitis at bay. It also gives me lots of energy! I started at about 170lbs at a sz.10/11. I’m now a sz.0 and my weight now is around 115lbs standing at just under 5'9".
What DON'T I eat? Most raw fruits, some raw veggies, Sugar, Dairy, Soy, Coconut, Tree Nuts/Peanuts, Corn, Oats, Quinoa, etc... Gluten/Wheat, Hormones/Antibiotics/Pesticides, Chemicals & Preservatives, Fish, Sulphites & Processed foods of any kind.
What DO I eat? Vegetables, some fruits, Olive & Safflower Oil, Organic, Free Run Eggs, Fair trade, organic coffee (LOVE me some Kicking Horse!) Organic & Free Range Beef/Pork, Flax & Chia Seeds, organic brown rice & brown pasta occasionally. I'm also a sucker for the Namaste mixes... they're SO good!
